POSITION PURPOSE:
The OEM Quality Engineer is responsible for VPI early life support at OEM manufacturing facilities and some distributors. Working with BFCEC customer’s, the OEM Quality Engineer will support CQA audits (Customer Quality Audit) for engines received at the OEM premises. Where BIS issues (Before In Service) are identified the OEM Quality Engineer will record issues and manage issue resolution. On occasions there will be a requirement to assist with application engineering issues and work with Product Engineering to resolve issues.
Job Responsibility
1.Be the primary Customer Quality Support providing the OEM with a high level of customer supports.
2.Support OEM Before In Service (BIS) issues.
3.Perform OEM customer quality audits.
4.Contain any product quality issues and provide rapid feedback to the BFCEC customer quality department.
5.Write issue reports following Cummins 7 Step problem solving process. Face to OEMs to get clear about the issue description for internal analysis
6.Provide VPI Early Life customer support.
7.Coordinate failed parts / engines return to BFCEC.
8.Support application engineering, resolve application issues, support issue adjudication.
9.Work with OEM’s and distributors as required for warranty issues or major quality spills.
Job Requirements:
Education Background
-Bachelor degree or above, major in automotive engineering or mechanics
Experience and skills requirements
-At least 4 years product service support experience.
-Application experience with medium and light duty diesel engines.
-Experience working with distributors and / or OEM’s
-Experience using structured processes, writing reports and using structured problem solving tools.
-Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Culture/Language Requirements
-Good English; reading, writing and speaking.
Other requirements
-Business travel / working at OEM facility will be a necessity.
